Born in 1955, Necla (she/ her) graduated from Middle East Technical University (METU) with a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences. Her previous artworks involved painting with acrylics on various canvasses, occasionally utilizing silicone and assorted textiles. Since 2001, she has been doing outdoor performances and producing videos of these performances.

Necla's outdoor performances have deep connectivities with Nature as she integrates found natural materials into her works, maintaining an organic relationship with herself and her environment.

For the last 15 years, she has been painting on 20m (65 ft) long transparent rolls. These rolls are photographed and are turned into visual streams of drawings. Her connection with Nature, her knowledge, hopes and frustrations of existence are transformed into these minimalist drawings on thin translucent paper.
